Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that Indigenous peoples and nations, including the Timucua and Seminole, have for generations stewarded the lands and waterways where A Thousand Leaves is based, in what is now known as Gainesville, Florida. We want to acknowledge that colonization is an ongoing process and that these lands are still occupied. We extend our gratitude to the ancestors of this land who kept it well so that we may experience and connect with the ecosystems that exists here. We honor those who have come before us and those still here fighting for ecological preservation, and strive to treat all beings, including the plants growing on this land, with respect and reverence.
